The Housing Industry Association is Australia's peak residential building industry body, providing member services, industry advocacy and training across a range of building trade qualifications.
HIA is seeking an experienced Trainer/Assessor engaged on an independent contractor basis to deliver accredited training for Certificate II in Construction Pathways in the Hobart region.
This contractor role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work with a respected industry organisation committed to supporting the next generation of construction professionals.
About the Role (Contractor Engagement)
As an independent contractor, you will:
* Deliver high-quality training and assessment to participants in accordance with the CPC training package
* Ensure all training/assessment meets HIA's RTO requirements, the Standards for RTOs 2025 and ASQA compliance obligations
* Mark and submit assessment results within agreed timeframes
* Provide additional learner support sessions where required
* Monitor learner progress and report to the regional training team
* Participate in industry engagement activities to promote HIA training
* Maintain ongoing VET and industry currency as required for approved Trainer/Assessor status
Note: This is not an employment position. The successful contractor will be responsible for their own ABN, insurances and meeting all obligations associated with independent contracting.
Requirements
* Relevant industry qualification (e.g., Certificate II in Construction Pathways or Certificate III Carpentry)
* Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 / TAE40116 / TAE40122 or higher), compliant with the Credential Policy
* Strong administrative and technical capability
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain professional stakeholder relationships
* Understanding of engaging delivery techniques
Desirable (Not Mandatory)
* CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (or demonstrated equivalence)
* CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (or demonstrated equivalence)
* Experience in the VET sector, particularly CPC qualifications
* Demonstrated building and construction industry experience
