ABOUT THE ROLE This is a standout opportunity for an experienced banking and finance lawyer to join a leading Melbourne-based team advising on high-value and complex financing transactions. The role offers a genuinely broad practice, combining transactional debt work with restructurings, equity raisings and fund and joint venture matters. You'll work closely with senior lawyers and partners, taking on meaningful responsibility and playing a key role in shaping strategy and client outcomes. You will: Advise on corporate, property, acquisition and project financings Act on structured finance transactions and leveraged financings Assist with debt restructurings, recapitalisations and distressed matters Draft and negotiate complex loan and security documentation Work directly with a diverse client base including private equity, non-bank lenders, developers, funds and corporates Coordinate workflows and supervise junior lawyers Collaborate with property, construction, commercial, litigation and tax teams on multi-disciplinary matters ABOUT YOU You will have: At least 4-5 years' post-admission experience in banking and finance (Australian or overseas private practice) Strong experience across a broad range of complex financing transactions Excellent drafting, analytical and commercial advisory skills Confidence managing client relationships and leading matters Experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and commitment to excellence A collaborative approach and desire to contribute meaningfully to a high-performing team
