Field Service Generator Technician / Diesel Mechanic Permanent | Sydney Based Travel Required Calling all Field Service Generator Technicians, Diesel Mechanics and Power Generation Technicians! We’re hiring a Field Service Generator Technician / Diesel Mechanic to support critical power across telecommunications, data centres, hospitals and essential infrastructure throughout NSW. If you have experience with diesel generators, standby power, or field-based mechanical work and want to step into a role with real impact, this is where you make the move. Why You Will Be Excited About This Role This is not a standard diesel mechanic role sitting in a workshop. You will be out in the field working on backup power systems that keep telecommunications networks, data centres, hospitals and essential services running when the grid fails. During storms, outages and major events, you are the person ensuring power stays on. At times you will be servicing and fault finding. At other times you will be deploying generators, keeping sites live, or sitting on site during critical periods where failure is not an option. It is hands-on, varied and high consequence work where what you do actually matters. What Else is On Offer: Competitive salary plus super and fully equipped vehicle Strong overtime with consistent extra earning potential Travel across NSW with occasional interstate, all on work time Stable pipeline across telecom, data centre and critical infrastructure Autonomous role with real ownership, no micromanagement Direct access to leadership and a business that backs its people Exposure to standby power, temporary power and emergency response work What You'll Be Doing Field service maintenance, fault finding and servicing of diesel generators and standby power systems Deployment and management of temporary and backup power during outages, storms and critical events Travel across metro and regional NSW supporting telecom, data centre and essential service sites About You! We're Hoping You Have Experience with diesel generators, standby power or power generation equipment in a field service environment Strong fault finding ability with confidence working independently on live sites under pressure We’d be buzzing if you have experience with Cummins, Caterpillar, Perkins, mtu, FG Wilson or similar, along with a background in telecom, data centres, rental power or critical infrastructure If you are looking to step into something more technical, more varied and more impactful, this is a genuine opportunity to move into critical infrastructure with a specialist business that is growing and investing in its people. We invite you to apply and look forward to chatting!
