The Opportunity:

Our Professional & Financial Risks (PFR) team in Brisbane is growing, and we're looking for a Legal Administration Assistant who enjoys being part of a busy, high‐trust practice and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly.
This role suits someone who values variety, structure and being relied on. You'll support Partners and fee earners across a diverse range of matters, working closely with clients, finance teams and the wider practice. At WK, administrative professionals are trusted for their expertise, encouraged to take ownership, and supported to build long‐term careers.
What you'll do:
In this role, you'll provide comprehensive administrative and practice support across PFR matters, helping ensure files, billing, and client requirements are managed accurately and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:

* Opening and managing matters, including conflict checks and file maintenance
* Preparing client acknowledgements, appearances, and Master Cost Agreements
* Tracking deadlines, diarising advice dates, and managing court dates
* Drafting, formatting, proofreading, and finalising legal documents
* Supporting billing and WIP processes in line with client SLAs
* Generating reports and assisting with client reporting requirements
* Liaising with Finance, Billing, and Operations teams on trust and billing queries
* Monitoring Partner inboxes and assisting with diary and meeting coordination
* Providing broader team support and assisting colleagues during peak periods

What you'll bring
You'll be someone who enjoys working in a structured environment and takes pride in delivering high‐quality support. You'll also bring:
* Previous experience as a Legal Administration Assistant or Legal Secretary
* Exposure to litigation and court processes (helpful, but not essential)
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Confidence using legal systems such as iManage, Aderant or similar
* Experience supporting billing and financial administration processes
* Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, solutions‐focused approach
* Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise across teams
* A collaborative mindset and willingness to pitch in where needed
