About the Team

Reaching over 2.7 million readers daily, Law360 keeps legal professionals, regulators, and business leaders ahead of critical developments shaping their industries.
As part of our continued global expansion, Law360 is launching its Australian bureau — a new team dedicated to high-impact coverage of the legal, regulatory, and financial sectors across the country.
We're now looking for an Editor to join our inaugural editorial team. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a new, high-profile newsroom from day one, contributing to stories that inform and influence key decision-makers in Australia and beyond.
About the Role
As a Law360 Australia Editor, you will edit and publish breaking news, analysis and feature content across a wide range of complex legal and regulatory topics. You will ensure all content meets Law360's high editorial standards, is legally sound, and is clear, engaging and professionally presented.
In addition to editing staff‐written journalism, you will source, edit and publish contributed articles from leading legal practitioners and subject‐matter experts, working closely with guest authors. You may also step in to support assignment reporters or newsroom needs as required.
Responsibilities
* Edit and publish daily legal news, analysis and feature articles with speed, accuracy and strong news judgment
* Write clear, compelling and accurate headlines and improve copy for clarity, structure and readability
* Ensure strict adherence to Law360's editorial standards, in-house style guidelines
* Identify and correct factual, legal, grammatical and stylistic issues prior to publication
* Source, evaluate and edit contributed content from external legal experts across diverse practice areas
* Build and maintain strong relationships with guest authors
* Collaborate closely with reporters, editors and regional/global Law360 teams to support cohesive coverage
* Contribute to editorial meetings and support story development and newsroom planning
* Use approved LexisNexis tools, including AI-assisted technologies, responsibly and within governance frameworks to support editorial workflows
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development initiatives
Requirements
You are detail‐oriented with solid news judgment and a proven ability to handle multiple deadlines without compromising quality. You communicate clearly, raise issues proactively when required, and are comfortable editing sensitive legal and regulatory topics with nuance and care.
You will bring:
* At least one year of professional newsroom (or similar) editing experience, with demonstrated strength in writing, and headline creation; experience with business or legal content is a plus.
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly grasp complex legal issues
* Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to editorial integrity
* The ability to work collaboratively in a high‐volume, deadline‐driven newsroom
* Tertiary qualifications in journalism, media or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
