About the Role
As a Painter with Summit Homes Group, you will be responsible for preparing and finishing internal and external surfaces across a range of residential projects. This hands-on role is perfect for someone with a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a passion for producing high-quality finishes.
Key Responsibilities
* Mix and prepare paint solutions to create specific shades, combining pigments, solvents, and drying components as needed.
* Apply finishes including paint, stain, or varnish with hand tools like brushes and rollers, or by using spray systems.
* Assemble and secure access equipment such as ladders and scaffolds and lay protective coverings to prevent damage or paint drips on nearby surfaces.
* Ready surfaces by stripping existing paint or wallpaper, fixing damaged areas, filling imperfections, and sealing for a smooth finish.
* Install wallpaper with care to ensure precise alignment of patterns and neat edge work.
* Tidy up job sites post-project by cleaning tools and organizing materials.
About You
* Certificate III in painting and decorating or equivalent
* Minimum 3+ years of experience in the trade
* Proven painting experience in a residential or construction setting.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
* Ability to follow plans and specifications.
* Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
* Awareness of workplace health and safety practices.
