As part of our planned future development, we are now seeking an experienced and commercially driven leader to lead our South Australian sales and distribution operations.
Role Overview
With our established Sales & Operations teams, as the General Manager – Sales & Operations
, you will take full responsibility for driving revenue growth, managing key accounts, and ensuring safe & efficient distribution of steel products across our network. This role requires deep industry knowledge, strong leadership, and the ability to navigate complex supply chain challenges.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement approved sales strategies to achieve agreed sales plans for steel products (tubular, plate, merchant bar, structural steels).
* Build and maintain strong relationships with major customers in construction, fabrication, and industrial sectors.
* Negotiate supply agreements and pricing strategies with mills and suppliers.
* Oversee logistics and warehousing operations to ensure safe, timely and cost-effective delivery.
* Monitor steel market trends, pricing fluctuations, and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
* Drive operational efficiency and compliance with safety and quality standards.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales and distribution team.

Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 7 years' experience in steel distribution, manufacturing, or related industrial sectors.
* Experience in either steel distribution or steel manufacturing is required, with expertise in related industrial sectors also acceptable.
* Proven track record in senior sales and operations leadership roles.
* Previous leadership experience must include responsibility for managing operations with at least $15M+ revenue.
* Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
* Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, or Engineering preferred.
* Australian work authorisation is required for this position.
