**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Fabricate and upholster furniture pieces according to client specifications and design requirements.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and other technical documents to ensure accurate fabrication and upholstery.
- Select appropriate materials, fabrics, and upholstery techniques based on project requirements and client preferences.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, as well as specialized upholstery equipment, to complete fabrication and upholstery tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Collaborate with other members of the production team, including designers, fabricators, and finishers, to ensure seamless coordination and high-quality results.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper storage and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience as an upholsterer, with a minimum of 2 years' experience working within a commercial workshop environment.
- In-depth knowledge of upholstery techniques, materials, and tools.
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
**Education**:
- Formal training or certification IV or equivalent qualification in upholstery techniques preferred.
