City of Playford is one of the fastest growing council areas in South Australia, building sustainable foundations, and placing the community at the heart of all they do.
Approximately 30 minutes north of Adelaide, City of Playford covers an area of 345 km 2, comprising a thriving city centre with extensive retail, service, and recreational facilities, diverse suburbs and landscapes, a mix of established and developing residential and commercial areas, and is home to over 110,000 residents.
Reporting to the General Manager City Assets and part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), this role is supported by 7 direct reports and a broader team of more than 130 staff.
This position offers a significant leadership and strategic management opportunity, focusing on enhancing City appearance across parks, streetscapes, sportsgrounds, roads, footpaths, and stormwater assets.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading the Council in setting priorities and developing innovative solutions to improve City presentation and outcomes.
2. Ensuring effective integration between City Presentation teams.
3. Driving improvements in service delivery to achieve positive community outcomes, quality amenities, and sustainable maintenance.
4. Aligning service provisions with the Strategic Plan and implementing initiatives that support Council’s strategic objectives.
5. Collecting and analyzing data to ensure services meet community expectations.
6. Participating actively in the SLT and collaborating across business units on cross-functional projects.
7. Demonstrating experience in leading sizeable teams in civil, infrastructure, or horticulture maintenance, with inspiring leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
8. Proven experience in service delivery, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Tertiary qualifications in a related field and local government experience are highly regarded.
