About the role

The Safety Partner is a key role within our People and Culture unit, reporting directly to the Work Health and Safety Lead Specialist. This position is designed to be a consultant to management and staff, facilitating effective Work Health and Safety (WHS) practises across various business units. The Safety Partner will play a vital role in aligning operational objectives with safety compliance, fostering a culture of safety, and enhancing overall organisational performance.

In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders to provide advice, coaching, and support on WHS matters, contributing to a safe and healthy work environment. You will be responsible for developing the capability of staff and managers, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practises.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Degree qualification in a related field or substantial experience in a similar role with ongoing professional development.
* WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Card.
* Class C driver’s licence.
* Experience in work health and safety management within a diverse service industry.
* Proven ability to implement WHS initiatives and develop compliance frameworks.
* Strong analytical skills with the capability to prepare reports and develop recommendations.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders.

Other important information

* The commencing salary for this position is up to $100,548k (dependent on skills and experience). Central Coast Council also provides salary progression opportunities for employees up to the maximum salary of $116,501 on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation.
* This position also has a motor vehicle allowance ($207.13 per week).
* This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight.
* We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role.
* This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building and will travel across the local government area.
* Successful candidates will be required to be vaccinated for tetanus.

Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
