Happy Holiday Homes is a locally owned and operated holiday home management company, providing full-service short-term rental management for property owners in Dunsborough, Busselton and Yallingup. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional guest experiences, meticulous property care, and professional, friendly service to both guests and owners.
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Accommodation Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our growing portfolio of holiday homes. This is a very hands-on role that blends hospitality management, cleaning, customer service, and operational coordination. You will be expected to get your hands dirty cleaning holiday homes during busy periods and be on-call 24/7 for emergences (rota) – this is not an office job!
Key Responsibilities
Holiday Home Cleaning
- Ensure homes are beautifully presented in a timely manner.
- Involves cleaning, supply management and attention to detail.
- Conduct property inspections to ensure homes are clean, well-presented, and meet company standards.
- Coordinate cleaning, linen, and maintenance services, liaising with suppliers, employees and contractors.
- Monitor and maintain property inventories, amenities, and presentation.
Guest Experience & Reservations
- Respond promptly to guest inquiries and resolve issues to maintain a high standard of service and positive reviews.
Staff & Supplier Coordination
- Organise and manage staff rosters, accommodating team needs where possible.
- Train and supervise staff to deliver consistent quality service. On-call 24/7 – there will be periods where you’re on call for guest emergencies.
- Coordinate and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers and contractors – (for example pest control, electricians, plumbers, etc.)
Administration & Reporting
- Manage booking calendars, pricing strategies, and promotional offers across online platforms (e.g., Airbnb, Booking.com) via Hostaway CMS.
- Oversee cost control measures to ensure operational efficiency.
- Handle accounting tasks such as supplier payments, budget monitoring, and expense tracking.
Acting General Manager
- You will be the primary contact when the owner is away – so need to be able to think on your feet and be experienced in handling whatever comes your way.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong organisational and business management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems efficiently.
- Experience in hospitality, property management, or events management.
- Competence in online booking portals and basic accounting software.
- Cleaning experience (a least a year) – either in hotels or holiday homes is a must.
- Eye for detail in presentation, cleanliness, and guest service.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in hospitality management, short-term rental management, or related field.
- Qualifications in Business or Tourism Management preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage accommodation and coordinate teams.
- Knowledge of the Dunsborough/Margaret River region an advantage.
- Must live within the City of Busselton, ideally within 15 minutes of Dunsborough.
