Job Summary:
* We are seeking an experienced Pit Builder to join our team in installing stormwater, sewer, and water mains.
* The successful candidate will lead a small team, assign tasks, and ensure proper workflow for pipe laying and construction work.
* This is a hands-on role that requires excavating and preparing trenches for pipe installation, as well as ordering materials and ensuring timely delivery.

* Pit Builders must also be able to read and interpret site plans and engineering drawings, as well as communicate effectively with engineers, site managers, and other workers.

Key Responsibilities
* Leading a small team in the installation of stormwater, sewer, and water mains.
* Assigning tasks to workers and ensuring proper workflow.
* Pipe Laying & Construction Work: Excavating and preparing trenches for pipe installation, installing pipes, pits, and rendering as required.
* Ensuring proper alignment, slope, and joint sealing of pipes.
* Material Ordering & Coordination: Ordering concrete, gravel, and other construction materials, ensuring timely delivery to avoid project delays.
* General Labouring Duties: Assisting with site preparation, cleanup, and maintenance, operating hand tools and basic machinery as needed.
* Safety Compliance: Following all site safety regulations and procedures, identifying and mitigating potential hazards on-site.
* Contributing to Project Success: Ensuring the quality and efficiency of pipe installations, coordinating with engineers, site managers, and other workers.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* At least 2 years of experience in civil pit building/pipe laying.
* Ability to read and interpret site plans and engineering drawings.
* Familiarity with different pipe materials and installation techniques.
* Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations.
* Knowledge of safe excavation and trenching practices.
* Must be physically fit, as the job involves manual labor, lifting, and working in various weather conditions.
* Must work well in a team environment and follow site instructions.
* Adaptability to different job site conditions.
* White Card (Construction Induction Training) – required for working on construction sites.
* Driver's License – for transportation to and from job sites.
