This is a diverse, fast-paced role and the ideal candidate will lead the estimating, tendering and submissions for all projects from inception through to delivery.
If you have a strong background in civils, excellent analytical skills, a passion for delivering high-quality work, and are looking for an excellent opportunity to work with a successful team, we want to hear from you.Responsibilities:Business development: Assisting with the senior management team to solicit and review tendering opportunities and bid/no bid processes.Project Analysis: Conduct comprehensive reviews of project plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand the scope, materials, and labor requirements.Cost Estimation: Utilize first principal methods to prepare accurate cost estimates for civil projects.Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors and establish procurement for projects.Risk Assessment: Identify and analyse potential risks and opportunities associated with each project.Value Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities that optimize project costs without compromising quality or performance.Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed and accurate bid proposals, including cost breakdowns, project schedules, and other relevant documentation, to submit competitive bids for civil engineering projects.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and cost-saving innovations in civil engineering and construction estimation techniques, and apply this knowledge to enhance our estimating processes.Key Requirements:5 to 10 years of experience in estimating, specifically in the Utilities, Earthworks, and FRP sectors.Strong understanding of cost estimation software and tools.Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and industry standards.Experience working with project teams to provide clear and effective estimates.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to work under pressure.Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
