We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Ophthalmology Clinical Nurse Specialist Theatre to join our clinical team on a full time basis. Monday to Friday flexible roster, no on‑call, weekends, public holidays or trauma.
Duties and responsibilities
- Lead the nursing team to deliver safe, evidence‑based patient care
- Manage team rosters, workloads and delegation of tasks
- supporting the GM/ DON and NUM in quality activities and procurement
- requires experienced Perioperative Ophthalmology Registered Scrub/ Scout Nurse
- Ensure the theatre complex and equipment are ready for surgery
- Ensure patient safety and communication with surgical team is always a key focus
- Monitor and evaluate patient recovery, addressing any complications
- Deliver education and support to patients for the management of their recovery
About You
You have a genuine passion for nursing, providing world‑class patient care and adding value to Australian healthcare. You will have:
- Solid experience as an Ophthalmology scrub/ scout Registered Nurse in a theatre / perioperative setting
- Current AHPRA registration
- Advanced clinical and technical skills including problem solving skills
- A passion for education, mentoring and leadership
- Experience in the below specialties highly desirable
- A background in private day hospitals preferred
