The opportunity
As our Employment Tax Consultant or Senior Consultant you will provide expert employment tax advice and compliance support—including FBT, Payroll Tax, PAYG, Superannuation, Salary Packaging, and Due Diligence—while leveraging technology and data insights, reviewing key deliverables, collaborating across teams, and delivering training to clients and colleagues.
Our team works as a well-integrated national team, with our leading Employment Tax Specialists based across each State of Australia. You will have the opportunity to work with Australian-based and multinational clients across the country, therefore offering you the ability to work with large corporates, and a diverse range of industries. In this role, you’ll predominantly work on advisory and compliance matters, with training, coaching and support available to help grow your career even further!
This is a hybrid position based in Naarm – Melbourne, Boorloo – Perth, Meanjin – Brisbane or Warrang – Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
* Deliver Expert Employment Tax Advice: Research and provide written guidance on Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Payroll Tax, PAYG Withholding, Superannuation Guarantee, and Salary Packaging, while collaborating with other business units to offer specialist insights.
* Ensure Compliance and Quality: Review and prepare annual FBT returns, payroll tax filings, and superannuation guarantee calculations, leveraging technology and big data to support compliance and uncover actionable insights.
* Engage and Educate: Liaise directly with clients and regulatory bodies, and lead training seminars for both clients and internal teams to build understanding and capability in employment tax matters.
Skills and attributes for success
* Collaborative and Client-Focused Mindset: Eager to work as part of a national team supporting clients across diverse industries with complex tax and payroll compliance issues, including opportunities to work onsite within client businesses.
* Strong Technical and Analytical Skills: Brings 1–3 years of employment tax experience with large multinational organizations, excellent MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills, and proven confidence in handling data and performing detailed analysis.
* Adaptable and Growth-Oriented: Skilled at managing multiple priorities independently and within teams, with a strong attention to detail and a desire to continuously learn and embrace new technologies and ways of working.
