Where you'll be working
Join the Occupational Therapy service at Maitland Hospital, delivering care across medical, surgical, paediatric, intensive care wards, and the Emergency Department. Our patient-centred OT team is known for its supportive culture and strong collaboration within a multidisciplinary environment, focused on promoting recovery and enabling safe, timely discharge.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide an 8-hour Saturday ward service. This role plays a key part in facilitating discharges for elective orthopaedic patients and supporting patient flow across the hospital.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:
* Significant acute hospital ward experience
* Strong clinical skills with elective orthopaedic patients
* Confidence managing a broad and varied caseload
* Ability to prioritise workload and respond to competing discharge pressures
* Excellent communication and liaison skills within a multidisciplinary team
* Sound clinical judgement, including raising discharge concerns when required
* Capacity to work autonomously

Requirements:
* Occupational Therapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA
Additional Information:
* To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
