Job Opportunity: Childcare Chef at My Stars Berwick
Position Available: Childcare Chef
We are currently seeking a passionate and qualified childcare chef to join our dynamic team at My Stars Berwick. The role will primarily involve preparing nutritious, balanced meals for our children, ensuring dietary needs are met and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. This is a casual or permanent part-time position, offering between 15 to 25 hours per week, with flexibility for the right candidate.
About Us: My Stars Berwick is a well-established, family-owned childcare service located in the heart of the rising education hub in Berwick. We are a government-approved, Funded Long Daycare and Kindergarten service, operating from Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. With 12 years of experience, we take pride in offering a warm, multicultural environment and are dedicated to providing high-quality care and education for young children.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, follow and serve our menu's healthy, nutritious meals in accordance with children's dietary needs and preferences.
* Ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are maintained at all times.
* Collaborate with educators to meet the children's individual dietary requirements (allergies, intolerances, etc.).
* Manage kitchen inventory and assist with ordering supplies.
* Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Skills & Experience: The successful candidate will need to have:
* Relevant qualifications in commercial cookery or food safety (e.g., Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent).
* Experience working as a chef in a childcare or similar environment is preferred.
* Knowledge of dietary needs, food allergies and healthy meal planning for young children.
* Up-to-date First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
* Working With Children Check and Child Protection Certificate.
* Two professional referees (industry-specific).
* Legal right to live and work in Australia.
