About this opportunity
We are looking for a Construction Project Manager to play an integral part of the construction team in our Canberra office. This role will see you take on Project Manager responsibilities through construction phase of project delivery. Some key responsibilities include:
* Being the first point of communication with the client; managing expectations, resolving issues and ensuring successful delivery of outcomes
* Administration of Construction Contracts (GC21/AS2124) as the PAP or Superintendent's Representative
* Coordinating with a diverse range of stakeholders in the project including authorities, developers, clients and contractors.
* Oversight of all matters relating to budget, resources, project health and project planning
* Oversee the contractor's compliance on construction projects, with a strong focus on the review of their quality, environmental and safety systems
* Liaising with internal teams across a multidisciplinary office to resolve client queries and design challenges
* Advise clients on progress, risk, and delivery outcomes
* Be a trusted, visible presence on site and across project stakeholders

What we are seeking
You are an experienced Civil Engineer with and ideally a proven track record successfully delivering land development projects. You thrive in an environment which provides you with a breadth of responsibility and role diversity. The selected candidate will have access to senior team members to collaborate with and enjoy a working environment that encourages employee empowerment through problem solving and decision making. You will come to us with:
* 5+ years' experience in Civil Construction and/or Civil Consultancy
* Extensive site-based experience in construction administration within land development or infrastructure projects
* Exposure to engineering design and solid understanding of the design process
* The ability to communicate effectively with our clients and contractors to achieve great results within a complex project environment
* A keen interest in ongoing professional development; desire to learn new skills and the drive to continue to challenge yourself
* You are self-driven and apply tenacious approach to undertaking tasks and solving problems
* Ideally have a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, but experience in the delivery of local (ACT and surrounds) Civil Engineering Works will also be highly regarded
* Interested or currently progressing towards becoming a chartered and registered engineer
