About the Ministerial and Parliamentary Services team
The Ministerial and Parliamentary Services team provides a range of services to support our Minister, the SafeWork Commissioner, and Senior Executives across the organisation. We are the central point of contact and coordination for ministerial and parliamentary requests, and play a critical role in ensuring the quality, consistency and timeliness of SafeWork NSW responses and advice in relation to highly sensitive ministerial, parliamentary and other matters.
Senior Advisor, Parliamentary Services
The Senior Advisor, Parliamentary Services leads and delivers high-quality parliamentary services to support SafeWork NSW's effective engagement with NSW Parliamentary processes and ensure agency outputs are accurate, timely and aligned with legislation, policy, rules and procedures. Provides authoritative advice on complex and sensitive matters to drive continuous improvement of parliamentary processes and build organisational capability.
Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Manager of the Ministerial and Parliamentary Services team, this role operates in a fact‐paced, high‐volume environment and is responsible for coordinating, preparing (including drafting briefings, correspondence, advice etc.) and delivering responses to parliamentary, ministerial and other ad hoc requests across a range of complex, technical and sensitive issues.
* You will play a key role in leading the preparation for Parliamentary sitting weeks, Budget Estimates and public hearings, and responding to orders for papers and other requests arising out of the Parliamentary process.
* As a senior member of the team, you will also be responsible for leading the development of procedures and guidance documentation and acting as a subject matter expert for all matters pertaining to the parliamentary process providing support and advice to your colleagues and the broader business.

* Prior experience in a similar role.
* Exceptional writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively and with confidence across diverse audiences.
* Leadership experience, with the ability to inspire, guide and support colleagues in delivering high‐quality outcomes in a fast‐paced environment.
* Strong ability to think strategically, aligning advice and actions with broader organisational objectives while maintaining awareness of emerging issues, key reforms and organisational priorities.
* Demonstrated ability to foster strong and productive relationships across key internal and external stakeholders.
* Resilient, organised and self‐motivated, and capable of effectively managing competing priorities.
* Fast and independent learner, capable of undertaking research and analysis, quickly grasping new and complex subject matter, and applying sound judgement to provide timely, accurate and balanced advice.
* Model and promote the highest standards of integrity and accountability.
* Understanding of the NSW work health and safety regulatory framework is highly desirable.
