Front Office Assistant Manager

About You

We are currently seeking a Front Office Assistant Manager (Duty Manager) to work full-time across our dual-branded property - The Pullman Melbourne City Centre & The Mercure Welcome Melbourne.

* Previous experience as a hotel (accommodation) Duty Manager is essential for this role.
* A current RSA certificate or the ability to obtain one is required.
* An exuberant personality, exceptional people skills, and the ability to motivate, train, and lead employees are crucial.
* The successful applicant will be well presented, confident, articulate, and resourceful, with a fun attitude towards work.
* Flexibility to work a variable roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends, over 7 days is necessary.


About the Role

As Duty Manager, you will oversee the effective operation of the Front Office Department and team, ensuring service standards are maintained, profitability maximized, and guest needs are met.

* Adhering to policies and procedures outlined in the hotel standards manuals is a key responsibility.
* Handling guest complaints promptly and confidentially is a priority.
* Providing efficient, friendly, and professional guest service is essential.
* Training front office staff using hotel programs and procedures is a key task.
* Assisting with daily operational tasks, planning and forecasting for arrivals, and coordinating with other departments such as Concierge, Housekeeping, Reservations, and Food & Beverage are all important duties.
* Ensuring accurate room allocation and guest check-in/out processes, utilizing the front office system effectively to generate reports, managing incident reports and follow-ups, monitoring arrivals and departures, ensuring billing accuracy, handling guest requests and special needs, maintaining a visible presence in the lobby and hotel environment, overseeing safety, security, and emergency procedures, controlling costs, and managing staff presentation and performance are all critical responsibilities.

Successful candidates will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety policies, maintaining equipment, and supporting the team to meet hotel standards and financial targets.
