Are you a customer service professional looking for a new challenge? We are seeking an experienced Sales Assistant to join our team in Geelong.
This is a full-time position that requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills. As a Sales Assistant, you will be responsible for greeting customers, providing solutions to their needs, handling payments, and replenishing stock while maintaining high visual merchandising standards.
The role involves working across a rotating roster in our 6-day a week trading store (Monday - Saturday). You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of products and services, including paint, finishes, and protective coatings.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide exceptional customer service and advice to trade and retail customers
* Tint paint products to customer specifications
* Manage inventory control, including goods receiving and stock taking
* Process orders in-store and by phone
* Replenish stock, including 15L paint drums
* Built strong relationships with repeat customers and colleagues
* Stay up-to-date with the latest color forecasts and product releases
* Assist with visual displays, store presentation, and housekeeping
* Maintain safe work practices
Requirements
* A valid driver's license for local deliveries
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service
* Previous experience in a customer-facing role
* Experience with stock handling and merchandising
* The ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting 15L cans of paint
* Knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems or technical aptitude
* Numeracy skills to process transactions and understand tint percentages/ratios
* The ability to follow instructions and work independently
* Problem-solving skills and adaptability
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Outlook
