Overview
An established Australian gases company is seeking an experienced
National Business Development Manager
to lead growth across the country. This is a senior role with
direct reports
, responsible for developing new business opportunities, strengthening key customer relationships, and driving national sales strategy.
You will oversee a high-performing sales team, manage major accounts, and ensure the organisation remains a trusted partner across multiple industries. A strong understanding of industrial, specialty, and medical gases is essential.
Base pay range
A$180,000.00/yr - A$185,000.00/yr
Location
Melbourne, Brisbane, or Sydney, with a national remit.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a national business development team.
Drive new business growth and expand existing customer relationships across multiple sectors.
Build tailored solutions, proposals, and contracts to maximise profitability.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements to inform strategy.
Represent the company at national industry events and customer engagements.
Collaborate across operations, product management, and customer service to deliver seamless solutions.
Report on national sales performance, pipeline development, and market insights to senior leadership.
Skills & Experience
Proven success in a senior business development or sales leadership role, ideally within industrial, specialty, or medical gases.
Strong knowledge of all gas types and their applications.
Experience managing and developing teams.
Background in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, manufacturing, or related industries highly regarded.
Tertiary qualifications in Science, Chemical Engineering, or Business preferred.
Commercially astute, results-driven, and able to engage at executive level.
Willingness to travel nationally.
