Obstetrics & Gynaecology Career Opportunities
This is a stimulating opportunity to work in Canberra's main healthcare facility as an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar/Senior Registrar.
The position offers extensive experience in O&G with exposure to Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Urogynaecology subspecialties.
The department handles approximately 1900 deliveries per year, with multiple gynaecology theatre sessions weekly. The primary duties will involve acute obstetrics, outpatient clinics, and emergency gynaecology, with limited exposure to gynaecological surgery.
Duties also include participating in the after-hours and on-call roster, assisting with supervising junior medical staff, nurses, and midwives, and supporting acute admissions, inpatient care, outpatient clinics, inter-disciplinary consults, and clinical handover.
Key Responsibilities:
* Participate in the after-hours and on-call roster
* Assist with supervising junior medical staff, nurses, and midwives
* Support acute admissions, inpatient care, outpatient clinics, inter-disciplinary consults, and clinical handover
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* General, Provisional or Limited Registration with AHPRA or eligible to obtain
* IMGs who have completed at least the AMC MCQ (part 1) or completed both AMC 1 & 2 (clinical exam)
* IMGs eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada, or Ireland)
* IMGs assessed by RANZCOG College as partially or substantially comparable
* IMGs interested in foreign training via the Short Term Training Specialist pathway (STT)
* Have experience working as an O&G Registrar
