Salary ranging from $87,550 - $133,846

About the Role

The role of an EAL/D (English as an Additional Language or Dialect) Teacher, plays a vital role in supporting the language development, academic progress, and cultural identity of students learning English as an additional language. EAL/D Teachers work closely with classroom teachers, specialist staff, families, and the wider school community to foster an inclusive, supportive, and high-achieving learning environment.

Key responsibilities:

- Deliver targeted English language instruction tailored to students’ needs.
- Assess, monitor, and document student progress using EAL/D frameworks.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to embed EAL/D strategies across the curriculum.
- Design differentiated programs that value cultural identity and support learning.
- Prepare formal reports and contribute to the EAL/D census data collection.
- Engage families and community partners to support student success.
- Promote and model Catholic values in all professional practices.
- Ensure compliance with diocesan policies, child safety, and WHS standards.

About You

- Hold relevant tertiary qualifications and accreditation to teach in NSW.
- Has experience or training in EAL/D teaching and learning strategies.
- Is committed to the Catholic ethos and willing to support the faith life of the school.
- A proven ability to differentiate the learning to meet the needs of all students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Class Teacher.
- Is committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- Has a genuine passion for supporting multilingual learners and their families.
