About the role:
We're looking for a Junior Procurement Officer to join our team based in our Head Office in Hallam as part of the larger supply chain team. The goal of the procurement team is to procure high-quality and cost-efficient inventory/materials for our organisation, through suppliers both locally and overseas. The role is a full‑time position and our standard office hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm; there are occasions and times during the year where some overtime will be required. This position is a great entry point into supply chain management and the procurement process.
Key responsibilities:
* Using data to monitor and analyse inventory movements to anticipate demand
* Arranging orders for production: Production planning, purchase order generation, cost analysis and review/approvals
* Supply chain management including arranging logistics of materials/fabrics, shipment of overseas inventory (air and sea freight)
* Working alongside local production to problem solve supply concerns
* Providing insights to management regarding demand and supply of our products
* Inventory management: Working with local supply chain team to maintain our inventory management system including loading purchase orders, updating production status, transactions input and stocktaking
* Product sampling: Including arranging samples to be sent to and from overseas production facilities, quality control and review
* Quality control: Product/material testing and review to ensure they meet our quality and specification standards
* Communicating with our suppliers and production facilities to arrange production orders and maintain status updates
* Communicating with our stakeholders (both within and outside Beleza) regarding product orders and if any matters arise.
* Miscellaneous administrative duties will be required from time to time: Answering customer inquiries by phone/email, paperwork, data entry and record keeping.
About you: Skills, qualities, qualifications and experience
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start their career in supply chain management/procurement or looking to gain experience in the area. Ideally our candidate would be near or recently graduated from university, or someone looking for a career change into supply chain management and international business relations. Our ideal candidate would possess the following attributes:
* Languages: Speak, write, and read both English and Chinese (Mandarin) (Essential)
* Previous experience in procurement/supply chain roles would be favourable but not essential.
* High attention to detail is critical.
* Excellent at problem‑solving and agile to identify and action solutions quickly.
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint is highly regarded.
* Able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
* Experience with data analysis is well regarded
* Works well in a team environment and with others.
* Proof of right to work in Australia.
