We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Mental Health Service.
The community mental health rehabilitation team provides a voluntary, Trauma Informed, Recovery Orientated service. This Multidisciplinary team provides mental health, medical and psychosocial support based on individuals’ needs by specialised, goal focused support for people to move forward with their life and their recovery. The team also provides a late onset of psychosis service (LOPS) providing support for people who are over 25 and experiencing their first episode of psychosis. This service involves providing comprehensive assessment, medical treatment, counselling and education for consumers and their families.
The senior clinician role would support more junior team members with assessments, case formulations and supervision as well as to support the manager to offer leadership within the team. The Senior Mental Health Rehabilitation Clinician will provide clinical expertise and specialist rehabilitation knowledge to provide high quality rehabilitation care to Mental Health consumers consistent with NSW Health and St Vincent’s policies, procedures and standards.

We are seeking a skilled and energetic Senior Mental Health Clinician who possess a passion for person centred care. We welcome applications from people who are able to:
1. Provide clinical leadership
2. Provide separation of leadership and management within prevention and recovery
3. Support team in debriefing
4. Demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning skills that enhance the service's ability to support consumers with complex rehabilitation needs and exercise independent professional judgment and problem solving.
5. Hold a smaller but complex case load
6. Support around professional development
7. Promote culture and practices that reflect the organisational values in their leadership, and interactions with colleagues.
8. Provide seniority within the team for support around referrals and assessments or clinical challenges with the broader service
9. Orientation of new staff members
10. Teach and supervise students on clinical placement and work experience as required
11. Maintain responsibility for personal and professional development by participating in evidence based practice activities, and training/education, in order to continuously improve service provision.
12. Service improvement in collaboration with team and manager
13. Attend hospital wide professional groups
14. Assist in recruitment of new rehabilitation clinicians
