Position Details
* 1-3 year position (extendable for two subsequent terms)
* 2 hours per quarter for meetings; approximately 6 hours per quarter for support to IHL program/committee work plan

The Program
The Australian Red Cross IHL Program aims to prevent and alleviate suffering during war and conflict, promote non-violence and peace, and ensure laws of war are understood and applied in Australia. The program is supported by IHL Advisory Committees across states and territories, which provide expertise and guidance.
The IHL Community Engagement Network is a volunteer group that supports the organization of dissemination events and activities related to IHL, as prioritized by the Advisory Committees and Network members.
The Opportunity
This role suits someone with a strong interest in IHL and a passion for community dissemination. Experience in volunteering or volunteer coordination, and the ability to engage effectively with community groups, are desirable.
Impact
As Convenor, you will coordinate community activities to increase awareness of IHL and humanitarian principles, and participate in Advisory Committee meetings. You will act as a liaison between the Committee, Network members, and the Red Cross IHL Program in your state or territory.
