Overview
We are seeking a Senior Executive Director to lead the Inclusion, Programs and Partnerships area and be a thought leader in human service delivery with a commitment to embracing the humanity of clients and staff and driving the social and economic participation of Queenslanders with disability.
The Senior Executive Director, Inclusion, Programs and Partnerships will assist the department to achieve its vision through a results-driven approach and a client and community-focused culture, and display the core public sector values of: customers first; ideas into action; unleash potential; be courageous; and empower people. The position requires a person who will take personal responsibility for serving the government of the day and meeting the needs of the people and communities of Queensland.
As a senior executive, you will work towards a system of world class service delivery and public sector management.
You will be an influential leader, capable of engaging and providing high-level advice to departmental senior executives, government, non-government leaders and Ministers, on a range of community services issues, with specialist knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with disability.
Responsibilities
* Lead the Inclusion, Programs and Partnerships area and act as a thought leader in human service delivery for people with disability.
* Help the department achieve its vision through a results-driven, client- and community-focused culture and model core public sector values.
* Provide high-level advice to departmental senior executives, government leaders and Ministers on community services issues, with specialist knowledge of disability needs.
* Address complex systemic and individual issues affecting people with disability and pursue optimal outcomes for individuals, the disability community, the sector, and the Queensland Government.
* Understand how community services sub-sectors and the health system interact with the NDIS and drive inclusion and system integration, including measurement and reporting on wellbeing and outcomes and reform options.
* Design and deliver funded programs of support within the community services sector with a commitment to co-designing person-centred approaches that achieve service access equity for people with disability.
* Build high-quality, trusting relationships with people with disability, their families and carers, and with the sectors that support them and with peak and representative bodies.
* Provide leadership in a large, dynamic and complex organisation with strong strategy and policy implementation experience in service delivery agencies and performance reporting.
* Deliver change, facilitate partnerships and alliances, and lead in challenging environments.
* Offer high-level strategic and operational advice to the Minister, Director-General, Deputy Directors-General, board and senior executives on systems, policy development and implementation, change management, leadership and capability, cultural capability and diversity.
Qualifications and capabilities
* Proven leadership in a large, dynamic, and complex organisation with outstanding leadership ability.
* Extensive experience with strategy and policy implementation in service delivery agencies and performance reporting.
* A track record of delivering outcomes for people with disability and driving systemic improvements.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills to influence at senior levels and across sectors.
* Ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment and maintain high integrity and resilience.
