About the Opportunity
The FFA is looking for a full‑time Management Accountant based in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
This appointment is a three‑year term, renewable for a further three years subject to availability of funds, ongoing need for the position and performance.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Management Accountant is responsible for leading the Financial Management section of the Finance Unit, providing strategic financial planning, analysis and reporting to support effective decision‑making, performance monitoring and resource management across the Secretariat.
The role leads the development, implementation, oversight and reporting of the Secretariat's Annual Work Programme and Budget (AWPB), ensuring that budgets, forecasts and management reports are accurate, timely and aligned with organisational objectives, funding agreements and policies.
The Management Accountant also oversees the Reporting Section of the Finance Unit, with responsibilities for internal financial reporting, cash flow and investment management, and the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures. The role also manages end‑user capabilities within the Secretariat's financial management system, ensuring staff have the tools, training and access required to work effectively.
Through these responsibilities, the Management Accountant delivers relevant, accurate and timely financial information to Divisions, supporting their financial planning, decision‑making and effective resource management.

About You
To be considered for this position, you will have tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Financial Management or a related field, along with membership with a recognised professional accounting body.
You will also need at least 5 years of senior‑level experience in management accounting, preferably within a regional or international organisation.
Skills and Experience
* Proven knowledge and experience in financial systems, budget preparation and cash flow and investment monitoring
* Experience in managing enterprise‑level financial accounting systems such as Technology One
* A strong record of meeting deadlines for financial analysis and reporting
* Fluency in English and the ability to deliver clear financial recommendations to senior management
* Familiarity with donor funding, reporting arrangements and treasury practices
* Exceptional people and process management skills with the ability to lead change
This position requires someone who can manage multiple activities at any given time and has the ability to prioritise and delegate workloads as necessary in order to deliver work within tight deadlines. You will hold yourself accountable to deliver your best results, with your initiative reflected in the technical advice you provide to senior management.
Benefits
This position offers a competitive, tax‑free salary of USD $54,332 – $76,704 p.a., inclusive of location and Cost‑of‑Living Differential Allowances (COLDA). Appointments are typically made at 85% of the salary grade, with potential for higher offers based on qualifications and experience.
