Role Description
The Site Engineer will work full time on site in Melbourne, VIC, supporting the delivery of civil and structural works from planning through to completion. Daily responsibilities include assisting with site set-out, supervising subcontractors, coordinating materials and equipment, and monitoring construction progress against design, program, and budget. The role involves implementing quality control procedures, preparing and reviewing site documentation (such as ITPs, checklists, and site reports), and ensuring work complies with relevant standards and specifications. The Site Engineer will support health, safety, and environmental requirements, identify and report site issues, and contribute to problem-solving with the project team. The position also requires regular communication with project managers, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders to keep activities aligned and resolve site-based queries.
Qualifications
* Strong on‐site experience and understanding of site-based construction practices, including working effectively in field conditions and coordinating with site teams.
* Professional communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions, prepare concise reports, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proficiency in quality control, including implementing inspection and test plans, documenting inspections, and ensuring adherence to construction standards and specifications.
* Solid foundation in civil and structural engineering principles, ideally supported by experience working with civil engineers and design teams on infrastructure or related projects.
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline (or equivalent relevant experience).
* Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and basic construction management tools (e.g., MS Office; exposure to project management or CAD software is an advantage).
* Demonstrated commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental practices on site.
* Strong problem‐solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‐paced project environment.
* Eligibility to work in Australia and willingness to be based on site in Melbourne, VIC.
