Assistant Venue Manager - Epic Waterside Bar & Pub

What You'll Be Doing
As Venue Manager, you'll be responsible for the day‐to‐day success of the venue, including:
Leading smooth and efficient daily operations.
Managing opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation and banking.
Overseeing stock ordering, inventory control, and supplier management.
Creating a welcoming, customer‐first culture that delivers outstanding service.
Maintaining high coffee standards, including grinder calibration, machine setup, and barista support.
Recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing team members.
Managing staff performance and fostering a positive team culture.
Preparing and managing rosters in line with labour targets and business needs.
Identifying opportunities to grow revenue and improve profitability.
Collaborating with the Head Chef to plan seasonal specials, events, and promotional campaigns.
Maintaining exceptional venue presentation and ensuring brand standards are consistently met.
Managing customer feedback, reviews, and complaint resolution both in person and online.
Conducting regular staff meetings and ongoing training sessions.
Coordinating venue maintenance and bi‐annual deep cleaning programs.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in a hospitality management role.
Strong barista experience and coffee knowledge.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Experience with POS systems and back‐office administration.
A proactive attitude with a passion for continuous improvement.
The ability to lead by example and thrive in a fast‐paced environment.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Degree in Hospitality, Management, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 1 year of management experience with relevant qualifications; OR
Minimum 3 years of hospitality management experience without formal qualifications.
