Director of Sales - Luxury Hotel Pre-Opening Opportunity
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Director of Sales to be part of the pre-opening team for a new luxury hotel located on the Gold Coast. You will be responsible for overseeing the successful opening of the hotel and, once open, driving the highest possible sales performance and commercial success of the hotel. You will also position the hotel in the local marketplace through appropriate Sales & Marketing initiatives.
Main Responsibilities:
* Maximize sales through the activities of the Sales & Marketing Department, working closely with Rooms, Food and Beverage and other revenue-generating departments
* Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the hotel's Sales strategies to achieve and exceed forecasted revenue figures
* Establish competitive sales targets for the Sales team across market segments.
* Actively lead, coach and mentor all members of the Sales team to ensure they are equipped to do their job while also developing them for the future.
* Establish strong and meaningful connections with key corporate and leisure market contacts
* Participate and help drive the weekly yield meetings and monthly strategic meetings
* Manage all key sales accounts and groups and deliver strategies for pricing, inventory and sales resources allocation
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a similar role within the hotel industry is essential. Pre-opening hotel experience will be highly regarded
* University qualification in Business, Hospitality or Sales and Marketing
* Proven success in leading and developing teams
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills
* Results driven with strong influencing skills
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into profitable action
* Strategic orientation with the know-how to problem-solve under pressure
