Youth Development Specialist
This is a challenging and varied role that involves working with young people in a remote setting. The Youth Development Specialist will be based in Kununurra, where they will work in partnership with local stakeholders to support young offenders aged 10-18.
The successful candidate will have experience working with at-risk children and young people, as well as strong case management skills. They will also have a minimum of a Diploma in Youth Work or a related field, and a driver's licence.
Key Responsibilities
* Engage and build rapport with at-risk children, young people, families and community members
* Support young people to increase safety, positive community engagement, life skills and cultural connection
* Provide practical support, mentoring and advocacy for young people and their families (as required) with complex needs
* Collaborate with government and non-government services to work towards common goals
Requirements
* Demonstrated skills and experience in working with young people, in particular Aboriginal young people
* Demonstrated experience in case management
* A minimum of a Diploma in Youth Work, Psychology, Social Work (or a related field)
* Driver's licence
