Overview
Morwell Park Primary School is home to approximately 350 students and is located in the heart of the Latrobe Valley. The school operates with seven flexible year-level learning teams, with all teachers working collaboratively to deliver high-quality education. The school has an SFO (Student Family Occupation) density of 0.82, reflecting diverse social and economic backgrounds. Selection Criteria
SC1
: Demonstrated experience in assessing, conceptualising and analysing wellbeing issues, and providing evidence-based problem solving for a range of mental health issues.
SC2
: Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing evidence-based universal and targeted intervention strategies for clients with complex needs.
SC3
: Demonstrated ability to input into the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and strategies relating to mental health and wellbeing.
SC4
: Highly developed communication, networking and interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of people.
SC5
: Clear understanding of legislative requirements regarding privacy of health information.
Role
Attendance requirement of 4 days per week for this position. Range 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in finance, human resources and other support functions. Range 4 is responsible for managing a range of functions under a wide range of conditions, subject to the size and complexity of school operations.
Objectives are generally clearly defined; guidelines are broad and day-to-day direction minimal. Management responsibility includes ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers. Specialized professional roles carry a high level of independence and accountability where appropriate.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined by the Education and Training Reform Act **** (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students is not typically required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups in controlled circumstances where responsibility remains with a teacher.
Responsibilities
Manage the delivery of support services to students, teachers, parents and other school clients.
Ensure all external providers deliver the required service.
