The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure is seeking a dynamic Regional Director to oversee and provide high level advice, management and coordination in the delivery of all building and civil capital works, minor works, and repairs and maintenance programs within the region.
The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure works with the community, business and government partners to regulate, construct, maintain and invest in integrated sustainable infrastructure, developments and services across the Territory.
About the role:
The Regional Director, Barkly will lead and manage the Department’s presence in the Barkly region, which comprise the Divisions of Housing and Land Servicing, Transport and Civil Infrastructure, Transport Safety and Services and Built Infrastructure. As part of the Southern Region executive management team, provide high level advice, management and coordination in the delivery of all building and civil capital works, minor works, and repairs and maintenance programs within the region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high level strategic advice to executive management and government
* Provide high level regional program management, specific project management and strategic direction to the regional and remote area programs
* Provide effective leadership and resource management along with finance and budget management of the regional and remote areas construction team.
* Represent the Department’s interests within the community, including pre and post-disaster relief activities in the Barkly Region
* Represent the Department on regional representative bodies and committees
About You:
* Proven skills in leading, participating and promoting multi-disciplinary teams
* Sound knowledge of budget management, capital works and repairs and maintenance programming, and financial and human resource management.
* Ability to analyse civil and building infrastructure issues and provide responses in a regional context.
* Sound knowledge of procurement policy, particularly in a construction environment.
* Experience with emergency management and operations.
* Good understanding of Indigenous issues and culture relating to the development of the Northern Territory.
