We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Salesforce Solution Architect to join the Technology Services Division (TSD). Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Salesforce Architect provides hands-on technical configuration and solution direction to enable the migration of legacy technology systems onto a configured Salesforce platform. This role will focus on rolling up legacy software platforms into Salesforce while prioritising innovation, consumer experience, and user experience.
Your new role
The Salesforce Architect is proficient in understanding business requirements, converting them into functional specifications and configuring a leading-edge Salesforce design to meet these requirements using Custom Objects, Fields, Lightning Page Layouts, Validation Rules and Flows as needed. With a strong preference for configuration over customisation, the role must ensure designs are secure scalable, high performance and maintainable.
* Lead solution design across Service, Experience Cloud and PSS/OmniStudio; produce logical/physical models and option assessments.
* Understand business requirements and convert these to functional specifications, configuring this functionality using Custom Objects, Fields, Lightning Page Layouts, Validation Rules and Flows
* Promote the use of Out of the Box functionality wherever possible and ensure that Salesforce best practice standards are adhered to.
* Adopt architecture principles, reference patterns, policies in all designs, representing new Salesforce designs through internal governance processes as required.
* Ensure alignment to information security (PDSP), privacy, records management.
* Support development partner activities with responses to queries during procurement and informing conversations within options assessments or delivery direction discussions.
* Partner with Platform Services Office /Service Management to ensure operational readiness: logging/monitoring, runbooks, non-functional SLAs, and defect/problem burn-down.
* Contribute to platform roadmap sequencing and technical-debt reduction with clear, traceable trade-offs
What you'll need to succeed
Significant experience designing and developing solutions using the following technologies:
* Demonstrated experience leading Salesforce solutioning and development in complex environments, providing clear, practical guidance to delivery teams.
* Strong hands-on capability in Flow, LWCm, bulkification and performance tuning within governor limits.
* Demonstrable knowledge of Public Sector Solutions (PSS) and OmniStudio (FlexCards, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures, OmniScripts), plus Experience Cloud portal patterns.
* Integration design expertise (APIs/events/Platform Events/CDC, MuleSoft desirable) and solid data modelling capability.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics (on prem) Architecture and operational fundamentals.
* Experience in administering and maintaining Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence, including configuration, user management, and workflow optimisation to support agile delivery and documentation practices.
* Stakeholder Management
: Identifies issues in common for stakeholders and builds mutually beneficial partnerships; identifies and responds to stakeholder's underlying needs; uses understanding of the stakeholder's organisational context to ensure outcomes are achieved; finds innovative solutions to resolve stakeholder issues.
