**About the role**
The **Work Health Safety Advisor** at Activ, reports to Work Health & Safety Manager and is responsible for partnering with senior leaders to influence and drive the coordination of Activ’s implementation, embedding and evaluation of Work Health and Safety compliance; providing support, guidance and technical advice in relation to all Work Health and Safety related activities at Activ.
A typical day in the role may look like
- Provide expert advice on WHS management systems and effective risk management processes across Activ
- Identify corrective actions arising from incidents, risk management and compliance assurance activities
- Support the identification and implementation of effective risk controls and contribute to the culture of early intervention and reporting of safety hazards and incidents
- Ensure all compliance requirements are met through ongoing monitoring and reporting- Sound technical knowledge and capability in Work Health & Safety
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, codes of practice and industry standards
- Able to identify risks or hazards and collaborate on effective solutions to day-to-day health and safety problems
- Demonstrated experience in working with Reps and managers to deliver WHS objectives across a broad workforce
- Sound problem-solving skills and investigation methodologies to assist or facilitate the investigation of incidents
- Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards (Highly Desirable)
- National Police Clearance and/or NDIS worker screening check.
