What You Will Be Doing
As a Pathology Collector (Phlebotomist), you will collect blood and coordinate specimen samples from patients, using your empathy and drive to deliver great customer service and quality healthcare.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Collecting samples (blood and non-blood) with care and attention
* Keeping meticulous records for every patient and sample
* Delivering documentation within strict turnaround times
* Preparing and packaging specimens for transport and testing
* Liaising with customers, clinic staff and couriers
What Type Of Person Will Be Successful
To be successful you will be an experienced Pathology Collector, or have a Cert III and be ready to start a Pathology Collection career. A Registered Nurse looking to switch from weekend & overnight shifts to regular daytime shifts is also welcome.
Those with no Pathology Collection experience but a customer‐service focus and a background in healthcare can be fully trained and mentored. Bring the right attitude and interest; we will bring the rest.
Attributes & Skills You Would Possess
* A demonstrated experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy / Certificate III in Pathology Collection or a healthcare background
* Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a high level of empathy
* Organised, with strong time‐management and attention to detail
* Ability to work autonomously, sometimes independently in a solo clinic
* Valid driver's licence and flexibility to travel to multiple clinics
* Holding a Working with Children's Check or willingness to obtain one
* Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen or valid visa with permission to work
**A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required for this role.** You must either hold an existing WWCC or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing employment.
Vaccination Requirements
* Vaccine‐preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is a requirement of this role
* Other vaccinations may be required based on location and setting
