Cancer Care Specialist Role
This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced Cancer Care Specialist to join our busy oncology unit. The successful candidate will have the chance to work closely with pharmacy, day infusion staff, and oncology nurses in the provision of chemotherapy.
The team is already well-staffed by dedicated medical professionals, providing a supportive environment for growth and development. As a key member of the team, you will be expected to participate in teaching junior doctors and medical students, as well as contribute to service development.
This role reports directly to the Clinical Director of Medicine and professionally to the Executive Director Medical Services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with other oncologists in the clinical leadership of the Oncology Unit
* Oversee the practice and training of oncology registrars and RMOs
* Guide the care of oncology inpatients, ambulatory outpatients, and those receiving infusions
* Work closely with pharmacy, day infusion staff, and oncology nurses in the provision of chemotherapy
* Participate in teaching junior doctors and medical students
* Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings
* Provide consultative inpatient advice to other craft groups
* Contribute to service development
