PQE Partners are partnering with a high-profile property development client seeking a Legal Counsel to join their close-knit legal team. Key Responsibilities
As Legal Counsel, you will act as a key advisor to the business, supporting commercial transactions and risk management across a range of areas, including:
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of contracts relating to construction, real estate development, project funding and joint ventures
* Advising on development finance, including lending arrangements, securities and funding structures
* Supporting deal execution – helping to structure deals, manage risks, and facilitate settlements
* Working collaboratively with internal teams and liaising with external counsel
* Providing advice on commercial disputes, primarily pre-litigation and risk mitigation
* Supporting corporate compliance, governance, and legal documentation processes
About You
You will ideally have:
* 3–5 years’ PQE, admitted to practise in NSW
* Previous in-house experience at a property developer or construction company is highly regarded
* Alternatively, experience gained in private practice in construction law, real estate development, or development finance
* A strong commercial mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities across complex transactions
* A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and an interest in how legal advice supports commercial outcomes
* Excellent communication skills and a proactive, collaborative working style
