Applications Specialist - SQL, Linux and Python/PHP
This role offers the opportunity to work within a nurturing and caring environment that caters for the academic, spiritual, and pastoral needs of thousands of students in NSW. The successful candidate will be responsible for partnering with key stakeholders to identify and implement potential improvements to key systems and integrations. They will also provide quality proactive customer service in a timely manner.
What you'll do:
* Develop and maintain application integrations ensuring their smooth running
* Monitor and optimise applications to ensure appropriate performance levels
* Identify and resolve incidents relating to key applications
* Analyse incident trends to identify problems and root causes
* Implement software maintenance including patches and system upgrades
* Offer advice on the capabilities of systems to meet business needs
What you bring:
* Strong technical background with a broad understanding of systems, networks, and APIs
* Experience coding in PHP or Python, Linux scripting and SQL
* Passion for application support with experience working in a similar role in a medium to large enterprise
* Strong written and spoken communication skills with the ability to describe technical concepts simply to non-technical people
* Ability to quickly understand new technologies and how they are being used across the organisation
