The Vecco Vanadium Electrolyte Plant is a battery component manufacturing facility in Townsville, Queensland. The facility produces battery electrolyte by combining water, sulphuric acid and vanadium pentoxide through an electrolysis process. Electrolyte is then shipped to battery projects and customers in Australia and Overseas.
Reporting to the Plant Manager you will be responsible for meeting safety, production volume and quality targets in a team environment. You will be working a combination of day and night shifts on a continuous shift roster.
On a daily basis this role will see you:
* Operate and monitor the plants condition (electrolyser modules, blending / mixing vessels, filtration skids, product in-loading conveyors, outload packaging systems, cooling tower operations, reagent handling)
* Have a sense of ownership for areas of plant responsibility
* Perform maintenance on plant and equipment / assist in maintenance activities
* Undertake laboratory tests to assist with process control ensuring product quality meets customer standards
* Monitor plant performance and improve the efficiency of the plant
* General housekeeping and administration
* Receival and dispatch of products and reagents
About You
You will be open to undertaking a variety of roles and tasks in a growing organization. Have experience in a continuous production environment, ideally chemical processing or manufacturing. You will be a committed team player with a strong emphasis on safety, ownership of plant, and achieving results for our customers. Have the desire to assist the company grow as it expands in an emerging industry.
Necessary skills required:
* High Risk Forklift licence
* Strong ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
* Knowledge of OH&S requirements relevant to chemical processing
* Good computer skills - dispatch paperwork, QC checks
Other desired skills and experience Include:
* Chemical processing/manufacturing experience
* Exposure to laboratory processes and chemistry
* Exposure to process control systems, desirable
* Demonstrated capability in working collaboratively and working to deadlines
* Experience with isolation and permit to work processes
