About the Role
WorkSec is growing fast, and we're bringing our finance function in-house.
If you're an experienced accounts professional who loves clean reconciliations, takes ownership, and enjoys helping customers when they need clarity - this is a chance to step into a trusted, high-impact role in a supportive team.
This role is especially well-suited to someone with an accounting/bookkeeping background who wants flexibility (including those re-entering the workforce) without compromising on meaningful work or responsibility.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a capable Finance Officer to take ownership of our day-to-day finance operations and our customer-facing accounts processes.
You'll report directly to the Managing Director, and you'll be the internal go-to person who keeps the engine running: reconciliations, invoicing, payroll, reporting rhythms, and customer account support - done properly, on time, with confidence.
This is a work from home role, based in Adelaide, with flexibility in how you structure your hours.
What You'll be Responsible For
Key areas of responsibility include:
* End-to-end accounts operations in Xero (reconciliations, AR, AP)
* Customer invoicing, adjustments, refunds, and account support
* Overdue accounts follow-up and payment plan coordination
* Payroll in Xero (including leave/overtime/expenses follow-ups)
* Monthly reporting and basic finance rhythms (Xero + reporting tools)
* Supporting BAS preparation with clean records and supporting documentation
* Improving and documenting processes so everything scales as we grow
What We're Looking For
* Strong experience using Xero across Accounts Payable/Receivable, reconciliation, and Payroll
* 3–5+ years' experience in an accounts/admin finance role (or similar)
* Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and accurate record-keeping
* Excellent attention to detail
* Confident communication (you'll support customers and internal stakeholders)
* A proactive, organised style - able to prioritise and meet deadlines
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
* BAS/GST exposure (preparing information, reconciliations, workpapers)
* Experience with Fathom, Zoho Books / Zoho One, and Stripe (preferred)
Why This Role is Different
WorkSec is high-touch, high-automation. You won't be "just processing invoices" in the background. You'll be trusted to run the function, improve the way we work, and become a core part of a team that is building something meaningful - while still having the flexibility to make work fit around life.
What You'll Get at WorkSec
* 13% superannuation (instead of mandatory 12% super guarantee)
* Annual bonus, based on meeting KPIs
* Monthly rostered day off
* Interstate Team Development Days
* Work from home + flexible hours
* Continual professional development
* Security Clearance sponsorship
