The Office of General Practice and Primary Care (OGPPC), within the Health and Community Services Directorate is looking for a driven and visionary professional to lead a transformative initiative aimed at strengthening the ACT general practice workforce. This is your opportunity to play a key role in designing and delivering a new $4million Professional Development and Wellbeing Fund, focused on supporting ACT GP and GP registrar recruitment, retention, wellbeing, and professional development—alongside the broader general practice team. In this role, you will: Co-design and implement innovative strategies with key stakeholders across the health sector. Engage and collaborate with professional bodies, workforce representatives, and policy leaders. Develop funding frameworks that drive sustainable workforce outcomes. Eligibility/Other Requirements: We’re seeking someone who is: Strategic and solutions-focused, with a track record of delivering complex initiatives. Experienced in stakeholder engagement, particularly in multi-sector environments. Knowledgeable in health workforce planning, policy development, or primary care systems. Familiar with GP training pathways, the ACT health system, and national health workforce policy (highly desirable). Notes: This is a temporary position available for a period of three years until 30 June 2028. This is a part-time position at 29:24 hours per week and the full-time salary noted above will be pro-rata. A merit pool may be established from this selection process to fill future vacancies over the next 12 months. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, and designated office based, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
