Role overview:
The Quality Scientist is responsible for supporting product release, documentation control, deviation and CAPA management, internal audits, and periodic reviews. The role also performs selected QC testing, including environmental monitoring, and supports validation and training activities.
Main Responsibilities
* Performing Quality Control (QC) testing, including microbiology, environmental monitoring, water testing, and raw material analysis
* Supporting product release processes through review of batch documentation and quality data
* Assisting in the maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS)
* Managing documentation control, deviations, CAPAs, and change controls in compliance with GMP
* Drafting and reviewing SOPs, work instructions, and quality forms
* Participating in internal audits and ensuring audit readiness across departments
* Supporting product stability programs, quality metrics reporting, and periodic product reviews
* Acting as a delegate for QA or QC leads when required, ensuring business continuity
* Contributing to investigations and root cause analysis for quality incidents
* Promoting a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across teams
What you will bring:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a cGMP or GLP-regulated quality control laboratory
* A degree in microbiology, biochemistry, analytical science, or a related scientific discipline
* Strong understanding of quality systems, regulatory standards, and GMP compliance
* Experience with microbiological QC testing, environmental monitoring, or product stability testing
* Excellent attention to detail with strong documentation and data integrity practices
* Proven ability to prioritise tasks, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement
* Confident communicator with strong verbal and written skills
* Experience with biological therapeutics or complex biotech products is desired
* Familiarity with CAPA, deviations, change control and internal audits is preferred
* A team player mindset, willing to collaborate cross-functionally to support product quality and business continuity
