Runaway Bay Junior Leagues Club is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead and grow this high-profile community club, which is dedicated to its members, the local community, and its sporting fraternity.
The Club is progressive, financially stable, and offers a diverse range of facilities, including a café, restaurant, pizzeria, bar, function rooms, and a new modern gaming room. With a vibrant entertainment program and a welcoming atmosphere, it caters to both sporting and social members while keeping the community at its core.
This is a rare prospect for a hands-on General Manager with solid gaming knowledge and communication skills with the ability to connect personally with members and staff.
The successful candidate will bring the drive and commitment to lead the business forward, achieve the Club’s strategic goals, and enjoy a refreshing change from the demands of a larger venue.
The successful applicant will be somebody with an outgoing personality who wants to be the face of a regional sporting club providing for the members and its community. Managing the day-to-day operations of the club along with certain aspects of the sports club, applicants with a sporting interest will be favourably considered.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the club along with certain aspects of the sports club.
- Prepare reports and presentations to the club’s board meetings.
- Continue to grow the club’s gaming market share.
- Develop, motivate and lead staff to attain high standards of performance and customer service.
- Maintain and monitor all aspects of the Club’s finances including performance, cashflows and budgets.
- Develop the business through innovation and marketing those strategies along with Club activities through all forms of media.
- Liaise with and support the Committee and exercise specific delegated authorities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including workplace relations, AML/CTF, liquor and gaming.
Qualifications
- Experience in hospitality management with a proven track record in leadership and delivering service excellence.
- Experience preparing reports and presenting to boards or equivalent governance bodies.
- Understanding of gaming operations and regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with members and staff.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including workplace relations, AML/CTF, liquor and gaming.
