The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Application Engineer – EV Charging Solutions (EVCS) to join our Melbourne team.
In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of EV charging systems, including both hardware and backend communication systems. You will play a key role in managing warranty processes, supporting customers and field technicians, and ensuring safe and compliant system operation.
Additionally, you will support pre‐sales activities such as technical proposals, solution design and tender participation, while acting as the technical point of contact across the full customer lifecycle from initial design through to post‐installation support.
Planning & Coordination
* Support sales with technical proposals, solution design and tender submissions
* Collaborate with internal teams and partners to deliver EVCS solutions
* Ensure safe work practices by assessing tools, PPE and OH&S risks
Troubleshooting and Diagnosis
* Diagnose and resolve faults in EV charging systems, including power electronics and communication networks
* Provide technical support to onsite technicians and report issues to R&D
* Carry out safe repair and maintenance of EVCS equipment
Customer Support
* Act as the main technical contact for customers across pre and post sales
* Provide remote and onsite support, training and technical guidance
Quality, Warranty & Compliance
* Perform QA testing and support continuous product improvements
* Manage RMAs and warranty processes
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards and certifications
Record Keeping
* Maintain accurate service records in ERP systems and customer portals
Additional Responsibilities
* Occasional travel and after‐hours work may be required
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
* Support Field Application Engineers across other business units when required
* Maintain high awareness of OH&S, security and compliance requirements in all environments
Qualifications
* Valid driver's licence required
* Electrical or Electronics qualification or equivalent experience
Skills
* Proficient in MS Windows and MS Outlook
* Experience with AutoCAD and MS Visio
* Basic understanding of power electronics
* Knowledge of EV charging systems and OCPP protocol (advantageous)
* Programming knowledge or background (advantageous)
* Strong analytical thinker with effective problem‐solving abilities
* Clear communication across technical and non‐technical audiences
* Customer focused with solid interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and within a team
* Adaptable and composed in fast paced and challenging environments
