The Melbourne Protein Characterisation Centre Manager is a leadership role that drives strategic and operational management of two cutting-edge research facilities: the Melbourne Protein Characterisation (MPC) facility and the ACRF Facility for Innovative Cancer Drug Discovery.
This position requires an experienced scientific leader with a strong background in operational management, financial planning, and project coordination within research facilities. Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and implementing operational strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance platform operations and service delivery.
* Planning and managing budgets, overseeing equipment procurement, and coordinating workforce structure to ensure efficient use of resources.
* Leading refurbishment projects, managing safety systems, and ensuring compliance with University and statutory requirements.
* Collaborating with other Bio21 platforms, promoting the centres to internal and external clients, and encouraging use by university partners and industry.
Requirements
* A relevant degree in Science, preferably with knowledge and research experience in protein chemistry.
* SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCE IN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND TERTIARY EDUCATION SECTORS.
* Leadership skills in coordinating multi-facility operations and driving strategic initiatives.
