ICT Project Manager (EL1 Equivalent)
Rates: $120 – $140 per hour

The Opportunity
Canberra Consulting is partnering with a key Commonwealth agency to source multiple experienced ICT Project Managers to support the delivery of major digital transformation and technology initiatives.
These EL1-equivalent roles will lead end-to-end ICT projects across areas such as digital platforms, cyber security, enterprise systems and integration programs. You will work with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and aligned with government governance and compliance frameworks.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Government ICT Project Managers seeking long-term engagements delivering nationally significant technology programs.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead planning, execution and delivery of ICT projects in line with Government frameworks and delivery standards.
* Manage multidisciplinary teams including architects, developers, analysts and vendors.
* Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, risk registers, governance artefacts and reporting packs.
* Manage stakeholder engagement across technical and business areas, ensuring clear communication and escalation pathways.
* Oversee procurement, vendor performance and contract delivery activities.
* Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions to ensure delivery outcomes are achieved.
Essential Criteria
* Demonstrated experience (7+ years) delivering ICT projects within the Australian Government environment.
* Strong knowledge of Agile, PRINCE2 or equivalent ICT delivery methodologies.
* Proven stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication capability.
* Experience navigating Commonwealth procurement, governance and reporting environments.
* Australian Citizenship with Baseline clearance (or ability to obtain).
Highly Desirable
* Experience delivering cyber security or secure-environment ICT programs.
* Experience working with PSPF, ISM and Essential Eight frameworks.
* NV1 clearance (or ability to obtain).
Security Clearance
Australian Citizenship is required. Baseline clearance minimum (NV1 highly regarded).
