Today, Moose Toys is on the hunt for a **Design Manager**
**Role Objectives**
To ensure product goes from Concept to approved Production Start, on cost, on schedule and within budget.
In addition, the Design Manager will be responsible for managing the creative teams work on day to day tasks, and the KPI and development of Direct Reports. The role also includes briefing the team/vendors based on the direction of the Design Director, and giving feedback to design team/vendors to ensure the work meets the creative brief
**Responsibilities**
Manage Product Design & Development
- Responsible for all Product design aspects of allocated portfolio to create innovative and high-quality designs (responsible for 3-6 brands);
- With the direction of Product Managers, assist in the further development of products from approved concept through to production;
- Demonstrate consideration of factors influencing product design, such as cost, selection of materials, production methods, new technology, safety/quality assurance, fashion trends, ergonomics, the environment, marketing and business strategy;
- Be responsible for specification packages for prototypes, samples and production;
- Solve design issues showing style, size, shape, configuration of internal components and general appearance, and resolve working requirements with either illustrations, computer diagrams or basic working models; and
- Work with relevant internal parties to ensure all project are presented to an acceptable high standard for various Toy Fairs and presentations.

Team Management
- Champion the Moose culture to ensure direct reports deliver on The Wow;
- Offer creative guidance and technical/engineering direction to direct reports to ensure the quality of their work is of a high standard and that deadlines are achieved;
- Oversee the day to day workloads and performance of direct reports towards the achievement of agreed objectives and deadlines, through the provision of clear direction, coaching and support;
- Lead product reviews at several stages of development;
- Assume responsibility to ensure that direct reports create products to meet target costs as per briefs from Product Managers; and
- Work with direct reports to set and monitor individual KPIs, and conduct regular reviews in-line with the Moose Performance Management Program.
